
Brian Rosen, President of Sam’s Wines and Spirits, a Chicago based national retailer of wines, spirits, beers and all related accessories. Sam’s is a Chicago institution for over sixty years and has become the largest wine retailer in the country in terms of gross sales for an independent and volume/ customer count. With a national reputation and a sales force of over 240 people, you will find Sam’s personnel in such varied places as Bordeaux, France, Spain, and Australia. Mr. Rosen has been with the company full time since 1990. While attending DePaul University, Brian traveled often to the major wine regions learning all about product and process. After joining the staff full time he worked fully on web site creation and concept, order entry and management. During the years of Brian involvement store sales grew from 36 to 70 million. There are four active Sam’s stores with located in Chicago, Chicago South Loop, Downers Grove and Highland Park, Illinois. Sam’s currently has footholds in 36 states and private labels bourbon, water, wine and Tequila.
Brian lives in Glencoe, Illinois with his wife of nine years Lauren, and 7 year old son, Ethan and a 4 year old daughter, Caroline. Mr. Rosen is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, Young Presidents Organization Chicago Chapter, Membership Chairman of YPO Wine Network, President of the YPO Wine Club, advisory board members of Bottlenotes.com, a boutique wine club, advisory board member of Image Architecture, an advertising company using text messaging. Rosen was also a guest speaker at the BES Wine/ Spirits Retail summit as a speaker representing national retail trends and marketplace. Rosen is also a frequent guest speaker for CBS, NBC and CNBC. Mr. Rosen also is a professional wine retail consultant traveling the nation to help wine retailers reach their full retail potential.
